It was inevitable wasn't it? I mean... THE SCORPIONS!!??
So very underrated in America. *sigh* Most people would label them (and incorrectly might I add) "Hair Band". ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
The Scorpions started sometime in the mid-60's, just Klaus Meine (My-nay), Rudolph and Michael Schenker, Uli Roth and Wolfgang Can'tpronouncehisnameanyway. :P Actually it's Dziony.
Here's them in '72. It's ridiculous really, you can hardly recognize ol' Klaus!!
Now, here's one of my favorites of their earlier stuff, Catch Your Train. I admit I probably would have never found it if it weren't for a blogger by the name of Eric Vandenberg-- who quoted Eddie Van Halen, "Man, his solos were STEAMING"-- talkin' about this song in specific.
And steamin' it is... *love*
AND NOW FOR THE ZOO! =D
Footnote: and then there was MATTHIAS!! =D
Note: Nooo... I didn't put an actual moving video here, because all there was were live versions, which rocked, but I'm so incredibly partial to the straightforwardness of the original version. So, just crank up the volume and do the funky monkey in front of your mirror.
Go. Now. XD
I would also like to point out that Iron Maiden does a pretty nice job covering the song. 'Course... Brucey doesn't sound like himself in it, which kinda was a bummer, but the guitar was great.
BONUS VIDEO: I stumbled upon this and I couldn't not post it. This chick is too perfect... my GOD, she's fantastic, and my new official hero for the day.
